Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of chocolate do you use?

We use a 34% cocoa Belgian milk chocolate with a slight caramel note for most workshops. We find this is the most popular type of chocolate we have used. We can use a 56% cocoa Belgian dark chocolate which is also very popular. Please let us know if you have a preference when booking.

  • What is included in the workshops?

The workshops are tailored to the participants, conditions in the room; humidity, temperature etc and type of event. When we started giving workshops in 2009 the workshops were all quite similar but now we offer a wide range of workshop content and formats. For example a fund raising evening would have very different content from a hen party and different again from a team building event. It also depends on the interest of the participants, some groups are very interested in the more technical aspects and some just want to have fun. Get in touch if you would like more detail about the options we recommend for your specific event.

  • What will we make?

Chocolates, Connections, possibly a mess! No seriously we are in the business of making chocolates but also fun experiences and shared memories.

  • What type of clothing is suitable?

I would recommend casual clothing and flat shoes as we sometimes have to put down a floor covering. Aprons are always provided as we can not guarantee that you wont get messy.

  • What should I do if I have an Allergy?

You must let us know if there are Dairy and Nut allergies in attendance as this will alter the content of the Workshop.

  • We don’t have a venue

This is no problem, If you let us know your requirements we can source a venue for your event and include the hire in the price or you may wish to book it yourself.

  • What are the room requirements?

The Fundamentals of any event is that it must have enough space and tables for the participants to work on. It is very helpful for us to have a cool environment 12 - 15 degrees centigrade is optimal. If possible windows that open or an effective Air-con system.

  • How long do the chocolates Last?

Different types of truffles and chocolates last different lengths of time depending on ingredients, storage conditions and if they are enclosed in chocolate. We will let you know the shelf life of the chocolates you make. could be anywhere from a couple of days if its unrefrigerated fresh cream to about a year if it’s pure chocolate or chocolate and sugar.

  • Can I eat the chocolates during the workshop?

Yes, in fact we encourage it.
